Well, well Joss, your ancestor was very likely at Waterloo (Hougoumont). 51st Regiment was in Peninsular from 1807. Coming forwards, were any of your Hughes relations in Royal Flying Corps in WWI? My mother's brother's wife was a Hughes. Her father flew Re2's in WWI and then for some time was chief engineer of Western Welsh Bus Co. I would guess he was late 60's in early 1950's.
