According to a passenger list Patience and four sons arrived in New York on Sept. 27 1852. It states Patience's age as 44 which would have her birth about 1808, from what I could find I believe she died in 1859 and her age listed is 50, so she could have been born 1809.The sons were Griffith who's age 11 at arrival, John age 9, Edward age 6, and George an infant. George would be my 2nd great grandfather, doing quick math George would have been born about 1851, So the George you found would be the right time-line. I know he is listed as Philip George on the record, on George's headstone it has George P. Hancock, so I'm wandering if this is him. Every U.S. census has different birth years and places of birth for all the children. There is biographical and genealogy book that was published in 1911 that said Thomas & Patience had a total of 11 children, but only the three youngest, John,Edward, and George reached adulthood. There is no mention of the names for the other children, so you may have listed some of them. I just have no idea who they were. I didn't realize that a thatcher would have been somewhat rare. Thank you for the help and possible leads to follow. Ed
