1841 Census, Breconshire, Llanelly District 8

Supt's Reg.District: Crickenhowell, Registrar's District: Llanelly

'All that part of the Parish of Llanelly which is contained within a line commencing at the boundary west of the coalyard, Brynmawr to the Heathcock, thence along the boundary to King Street along southside of King Street to Glamorgan Street, thence along westside of Glamorgan Street to the coal yard'

Thomas HANCOCK - 25 - Miner (not born in County)
Patience HANCOCK - 30 (not born in County)

The 1851 census - the HANCOCKS/CANCOX (reads HANCOX on census return - and Patience is quite clear) are in (Orchard Street) District 8 - and the Enumerator's notes follow the same route

This website had a great deal of information - maps etc etc & links to ordering certificates .... including the 1841 census District 8 - with Thomas & Patience HANCOCK, living in Prossers Row - This website has been put together by the family (THOMAS) who emigrated from there to American in 1850

--------

1851 census - as Patience says she was born Gloucester, Gloucestershire - and if she turns out to be nee HAINES - there is another Patience HAINES on Church of Latter Day Saints??

Patience HAINES - 29 December 1805 - Saint Mary De Lobe, Gloucester, parents John & Ann HAINES

? Church of Latter Day Saints: David HANCOCK married Elizabeth HERBERT - 26 March 1803 - Amroth, Pembroke, Wales. These are two children on CLDS - Edward - 6 February 1804 and William 26 January 1817

1841 Census, Pembrokeshire, Amroth
Summerhill Croft

Elizabeth HANDCOCK, 56 - Carrier (all born in County)
George - 14
William - 8

?

1841 census St Mary De Lobe

Ann HAINES - 64
John HAINES - 29 - labourer

Looking at the HAINES family in Gloucester on later census, John HAINES is married and there is a James HAINES and his family who name one of their children Patience!

? Gloucestershire Burial Index

John HAINES 1 May 1818, age 39, Barton St Mary
