Hoorah, back from the supermarket too, what a fun three hours that was.... normally takes one but my fault for leaving it until the dreaded Friday, I'm spare almost every day to boot, duh... Sincerely hope MPG was visiting more "interesting" shops.

Re Lane End even nowadays the main road out of Coleford is fairly small, and back in the day they were definitely lanes, the OS maps will show this plus the historic tracks & "rides" thro the Forest, in the days long before cars.

Re the Maps on this site, find this page from the Main "Homepage" menu via the icon at top left of your screen.

As you're beginning to find, this site carries a great wealth of things beyond the Forum, I suggest devoting an evening or two and a glass(or two) of something and methodically go thro' each and every section, your efforts will probably be rewarded.
And if you don't find it, most subjects you can imagine have at one time been discussed on this forum, so carefull searching may reveal usefull prior threads.
