Thanks, Jefff ! Having delved back with the Parish Records just about as far as I can with reasonable certainty (and probably further with less certainty !), and having located most of the places mentioned in PR's, censuses, John James's will,etc, I think it's now time to pause to reflect awhile.

Just been ring-binding the whole lot together in some sort of order; shall now mull it over for a bit and let the dust settle - probably, as you suggest, with a glass of wine or two ! But thanks again to yourself and all other posters, without whom very little of this would have been possible. Cheers !
