Philip and Sarah Jane Hopkins (General)

I wonder if someone would be kind enough to look up pre 1847 census records for these two please? They are my great great grandparents.

According to the parish records on this site:
Sarah Hopkins was buried 20 Jan 1847 aged 73, Residence Brockwear, Parish Hewelsfield.
Philip died 3 March 1847, buried 7 March 1847 aged 74, same residence and parish.

I have not been able to locate:
1. a baptism record for Philip
2. a marriage record for them
3. the maiden name for Sarah, and hence no baptism record.

Frustratingly the FoD parish records for Llandogo have a birth record for a Phillip Hopkins in 1772 (near enough...), but it is not the right Philip - I have been in touch with two of his descendants and confirmed this.

I purchased Philip's death cert from the GRO hoping it would have details of place of birth, but my hope was vain!

I wonder if any of you wise souls can find Philip and Sarah on the census records prior to 1847? Perhaps there is a place of birth there which might narrow down my search. Any other suggestions to locate my great great grandparents would be gratefully received. Thanks. John
