Have you searched the Gloucestershire Records Office database?

http://ww3.gloucestershire.gov.uk/genealogy/Search.aspx

for Wills say between 1772 & 1821 for HOPKIN(S)

There is a Will for a William HOPKIN at Woolaston - 1796 and Thomas HOPKIN Hewlesfield 1817 (Shipwright).

Also on National Archives - there is a Will of Warren HOPKIN - Shipwright of Woolaston - dated 5 May 1792 which I've down-loaded and will try and type out. In this Will, he talks Elinor/Eleanor - daughter of (Thomas Hopkin ) and nephew William HOPKIN. The Will was written 3 February 1788 when he says 'considering the uncertainty of this shortened life and being of sound perefect mind etc. Seems to be leaving an Orchard known by the name of ......... Worgan's. Very difficult to read this Will. The end parts talks about Eleanor HOPKIN Spinster when the Will was proved in London. The witnesses to the Will were, Thomas EMUNDS, Benj LEWIS and William SYNER - a SYNER was witness to James HOPKIN marriage.

This Will doesn't appear on the Gloucestershire Index.

In the search box type : Wills

Then search for HOPKIN, Gloucestershire. Quite a few going back to 17th century. Apart from Wills on the NA - there are quite a few items re James HOPKINS, Chepstow, Shipwright, James HOPKIN Jnr of Brockweare - witnesses inc. Warren HOPKIN etc. etc.

Sometimes purchasing a copy Will either confirms or dismisses theories.

If Warren HOPKIN - had a nephew William HOPKIN

Going back on previous reply....

When Phillip HOPKIN married Sarah HOPKIN (may be first cousins?)- 2 December 1793, one witness was William WILLIAMS

and then

a Phillipia HOPKIN married William WILLIAMS 4 November 1784 at Hewlesfield, one witness was Warren HOPKIN

Looking at the CLDS, there are quite a few baptisms of William & Phillipa WILLIAMS in Verynam, Cornwall, after 1784.
