Thanks for your help. I am interested in the children of two Nathaniel Hillmans who were stonemasons;
1) Nathaniel, a journeyman stonemason (b. 21 Jan. 1776, Miserden) who married Sarah Padfield (c. 17 Aug. 1783, Kilmersdon, Somerset) on 06 Sep. 1801 at the Church of St Peter and Paul in Kilmersdon. The groom’s occupation was registered as a sojourner from the parish of Miserden. I though that Nathaniel and Sarah had five children; Hester (b. 25 Dec. 1803), Isaac (b. 1806), Sarah (b. 02 Apr. 1809), Mary Ann (b. 1814) and Thomas (b. 1820).

You kindly provided the following important information, from the Gloucestershire Baptism Index CD - baptisms after 1813, about Nathaniel and Sarah’s children born in Catswood;
i. Mary Ann, bap. 15 May 1814 - 1m.
ii. Helah, bap 09 Feb. 1817 - 1 m.
iii. Thomas, bap. 27 Feb.1820.
iv. Nathaniel, bap.16 Feb. 1823.
v. Nathaniel, bap. 20 Mar. 1825.

I have records that note the deaths, as babies, of the two children named Nathaniel;
i. Nathaniel Hilman, b.1823, date of burial 21 Sep 1824, place of burial Bisley All Saints.
ii. Nathaniel Hillman b.1825, date of burial 02 Aug. 1825, place of burial Bisley All Saints.

I WOULD LIKE TO FIND ANY RECORDS OF BIRTHS OF NATHANIEL AND SARAH’S CHILDREN BETWEEN 1801 AND 1813.
DID THEY MOVE BACK TO THE MISERDEN AREA AFTER THEIR MARRIAGE IN 1801?

2) Nathaniel Hillman (c.15 Apr, 1805, Bisley, f. Thos.) who as a bachelor of the Hundred of St Briavels, on 20 May 1823
married Priscilla Williams (c. 15 Aug 1802, Ruardean, Gloucester) a spinster of St Briavels in the Parish Chapel, Newland.

As Nathaniel was a sojourning foreman mason who specialised in railway infrastructure he continually moved around Wales
and England. I have details about the following children;
i. Elizabeth, b. 1831, Liverpool, Lancashire.
ii. Louisa, b.1835, Weaverham, Cheshire
iii. John, 1837, Penmon, Anglesey
iv. Ann, bap. 19 Oct.1839, St Botolph’s Church Newbold on Avon, Warwickshire; d. 25 Oct.1839 prior to burial in St. Botolph’s Church.
v. Mary Ann, c. 12 Jun. 1842, Reigate, Surrey.

I WOULD LIKE TO FIND ANY RECORDS OF BIRTHS OF NATHANIEL AND PRISCILLA’S CHILDREN BETWEEN 1824 AND 1831.
DID NATHANIEL HAVE A SON NAMED THOMAS WHO WAS BORN IN ‘FOREST’.

Thanks for any help. Nigel BOSWORTH
