James Roberts 1827 – 1895 son of Amey/Emely Roberts 1805 – 1872, is also my great*2 grandfather,I am the grandson of Milson Roberts 1878, son of Samuel Roberts
1856 and Martha Workman 1857, son of James Roberts 1827 – 1895 and Martha Webb
1825 – 1907.

The mother of Amey ROBERTS 1806 is Rachel in the Littledean parish records.

The roberts, goode, and broadhurst-lockhart ancestry trees give her surname as Rachel WHEATLEY. I don't think this is likely as their marriage took place in Cornwall.

I think it could be Rachel MARSHALL 1766 – 1842 the wife of John 1797. I think her father Richard was a bit of a lad as he was married to Deborah at the time!!!

Amey is recorded in the 1841 census living close to a John and Rachel ROBERTS in Soudley Green.

If you look at Amey's transcipt you will see that her father's name is Richard. If you look in the Forest of Dean parish records you will find that there many possibilities for her father. I feel that Richard 1778 in Blakeney Chapel (Awre parish) is the best choice for the following reasons.

Her birth was registered in Littledean and a Richard is also recorded as being the father of two other chidren, William 1803 and Richard 1813 with mother Deborah.
A Richard married Deborah COOK (otp of this parish) in 1802 in Westbury.
A Richard was born in 1778 in Blakeney Chapel (Awre parish) father Anthoney mother Hesther.

I have more information on my Roberts family tree on ancestry.co.uk.
