Darn it, I now see the Charles and Annie Nicholls at a Westbury on Severn "hotel" in 1891 were definitely NOT our family from Bristol.

Their "hotel" was presumably the old Red Lion inn, (or Lyon as it is now...), and luckily the GlosPubs site page can be linked here, which shows that Charles was still there c1906.
